June 2010 - Thermal Power Cycle Engineering
Ventech Engineers, Inc. has hired Macek Power
for thermal power cycle design and optimization. The work will involve elements of equipment selection, performance calculation, and cycle thermal efficiency
determination. Various arrangements and energy inputs will be considered. Results will be used to verify project feasibility and to locate potential
equipment suppliers.
May 2010 - 1 MW Power Package
Grupo Numar (Costa Rica) has commissioned Macek Power to engineer and supply
an approximate 1 MW steam turbine generator skid for installation at a process facility.
The equipment will be supplied from the surplus market, re-engineered for new steam conditions, and repaired as necessary. Repairs are to be done by an affiliate
shop in Costa Rica under the supervision of Macek Power. When complete, the unit will give the process facility the option of producing its own electrical power
or purchasing from the local utility.
April 2010 - GE Turbine Re-rates
Revak Turbomachinery Services (now part of Hoerbiger) has placed an order
with Macek Power for the re-rate of two (2) General Electric generator drive steam turbines.
Both units were originally non-condensing, auto-extraction machines rated at 7500 kWe. The new configurations will both be straight through (no extraction) designs
capable of a minimum of 8500 kWe.
